IMPORTANT! - The Rules Have Been Further Adjusted And Simplified!   01/18/2018

We have decided to massively slim down the rules and make them easier to understand for all. We also have now added "gang initiation" to the server so players can be more easily included without confusion. If you have any questions you can ask a staff member in teamspeak. For more information and to see the updated rules you can find them in their usual location https://c8gaming.com/forums/topic/9-altis-life-server-rules/

  1. Addition of Epi Pen/ Defibrillator

My intent is that this would only be for the purpose of this event, in isolation of everything else. So if a medic was "attached" to the Rebel side they would be treated as a rebel for this purpose - and vise versa. I think is the APD treated the medic as a hostage, it would become too cumbersome. Just shoot the medic if ya'll get the chance As a matter of fact, if the Rebels state they have a medic, the elimination of the medic may be one of the APD's priorities!
  2. Addition of Epi Pen/ Defibrillator

I'll throw this out there for consideration... FACT: Medics are usually not included in most server events - whether its a planned event, Fed, or CDC. What if medics could be included in them? Example: A group of Rebels are going to plan a Fed. They "take" a medic with them to assist them at the event (the medic is compliant - because other rebels have their family). This information is transmitted to the APD (via Medic broadcast to protect the identity of the rebels). This would then permit the APD to deputize a medic for their ranks as well - which is also transmitted to the Rebels. With each faction knowing there exists a medic in play, the other side may engage said medic as a hostile without penalty - as long as the medic is within the battle range. If/when the medic is eliminated by the other faction, they are terminated from that event. So, it would be up to whichever side has a medic to protect them to keep that advantage. This would only be possible depending on the availability of medic online: If 1 medic online - They are NOT available for the event. If 2 medics online - 1 would be available for the Rebels to "take" (sorry APD). If 3 (or more) medics online - 1 each available for both Rebel and APD (if desired). I don't think this would drastically increase/decrease the overall outcome in favour of either side (well perhaps a +1 for the Rebels if only 2 medics were on), but it would definitely get others involved in the events who normally would not be.

  5. I dont have the spawn at altis airport option

RECAP: You may now possess both a Smuggler license and Rebel license. You can spawn in Kavala as a Civilian or with a Smugglers license. When you purchase a Rebel license, it will remove your general Kavala spawn point (however you may still spawn at a purchased house or garage). You can spawn in at the Altis International Airport, when you possess a Pilot's license.

  9. Hello Everyone!

    Welcome to the server...
  10. A LOT of players are experiencing BattlEye Issues. As you may be aware, BattlEye does not come with an "uninstall" feature, so after checking with the BattlEye support and doing a little research and troubleshooting myself, this seems to fix the issue - for most... but with everything, there are no guarantees! 1. Close out of Arma 3 and Steam. 2. DELETE the BattlEye folder from your steam library: c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3\BattlEye The above path may be different, if you have it installed on an alternate drive. 3. Then DELETE the following folder: c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye 4. Go to your user directory and delete the following file: c:\Users\YOUR-COMPUTER-NAME\AppData\Local\Arma 3\BattlEye\BEClient.dll you may need to "unhide" your system files to view, Or, once you've navigated to yours users folder, place your mouse in the navigation bar (where the URL is) and type in "\AppData" at the end of the string. Hit Enter, Double-Click Local folder, then Arma 3 folder, then BattleEye folder. Delete the file. 5. Start up Steam, and verify the A3 game cache: Start Steam, go to Library, Arma 3. Right click on Arma 3 and select Properties (at the bottom) - this will open the Arma 3 Properties window. Select the LOCAL FILES Tab at the top, then click on the VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES button. 6. Re-start Steam and launch Arma 3. You may be prompted to reinstall Battleye - if so, do so! 7. Re-start your system and give it a go. Also... ** It may not hurt to delete the Mission File (.pbo) to have a fresh download as well: c:\Users\YOUR-COMPUTER-NAME\AppData\Local\Arma 3\MPMissionsCache\s1k_lyfe_version#.Altis.pbo This is only a cache file and will force a download of the current version upon connection to the server.

  12. Money / Economy DP Locations

I usually average about $50K. Nice way to pass the time and make a little easy money, when there's not many players around. Also a good way to get to know the map for the new players. All that's needed is a hummingbird and a heartbeat!
  13. Hello everyone! Just wanted to provide a little insight into the EMS - why we do, or don't do things... First: There are lots of times where there are no EMS online - and we have all seen this. Currently, the EMS is low on numbers, but those we do have are committed to the role. A lack of EMS online is one of our more challenging issues, but when you do see that there is a medic (or more) online, they are usually confined to the Kavala area. This is more so if the online medics are First Responders (which is our entry level EMS). They have a responsibility to respond to all revive requests within a 3 km radius of the area they are assigned. If there are more than two medics online, and one of them is a medic certified for flight duties, they can then travel to various areas of the map to render assistance. But, depending on the revive location, it does take time to get there... So if you're 10 km away, be patient! If you notice 3 or more medics online, and before you enter a hostile area, call the office (EMS cell phone) to see if there is an Air Ambulance on duty - in the event you need one! Second: There is a misconception about who actually gets revived. Our greatest torment is when a revive request is received and just as the medic arrives, the player selects DNR, or re-spawns. While this isn't a big issue, it does take the medic time to get to the location - taking them away from others areas where they may be needed. Third: A medic arrives at a revive location and the "player" sees them there, either hovering over their body, or in close proximity, but aren't "doing anything"... Well, this is most likely because someone else in the area has told them to DNR! The one who requests does not hear them, and medics CANNOT render assistance in fear of harm, or arrest! What the medic can do is wait for those who said DNR to leave the area. If the player who requested a revive does so again, they will render assistance. Fourth: If an area is active (shots being fired), regardless of who is shooting at who, or how many have requested, the EMS are NOT permitted to enter the area and are required to stay back for a period of time to allow the area to come under someones control (Rebel or APD). At that time they will cautiously approach and inquire if assistance is needed. They will take direction from those who survived. While the above points are not "everything" that the EMS must abide by, it may give some insight into certain circumstances we face daily. WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP OUT? To apply as a member of the EMS, there are only a few criteria that first need to be met: 16 years old (15 if recommended by EMS Command Staff), Active on the server for at least 2 weeks, Shown ability to be a productive member of the community using fair roleplay. We also offer various RP friendly sections within the EMS, such as: Field Training, Flight Training and Search and Rescue. The EMS Department is always looking for good role players to join the ranks. If your interested in joining this white-listed position, here are a few links: EMS Application EMS Interview Times EMS Structure If you have any questions about the EMS that are not mentioned in the links above, ask anyone in-game.
